Why move to Romsey?

One of the principle towns in the Test Valley, Romsey is within commuting distance of London and many key southern England hubs including Bournemouth, Southampton, Lymington, New Forest, Salisbury and Southampton airport, plus we have great schools, a friendly community and the rugged beauty of the New Forest.

Some things to love about living in Romsey

Visit Broadlands, our beautiful stately home in the heart of Romsey.

Take the kids to Poultons Park with Peppa Pig World, its great fun with lots of rides.

Have lunch at the Three Tunns, a lovely 16th Century pub with great food.

Take the family to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard for the day and visit HMS Victory.

The entire New Forest is on our doorstep, a beautiful National Park filled with lovely wild ponies, pigs and donkeys.

A little bit of history

After a hunting accident in the New Forest, the body of King William II was carried though Romsey on its journey to Winchester.

Need to know

Romsey is said to be one of the most haunted places in Hampshire. The Abbey is said to host several ghosts and the former Swan Inn (now The Conservative Club) is rumoured to be home to two Roundhead Soldiers who were hanged there.

Stock up on fresh fruit and veggies at our twice weekly market. Longs Farm Shop offers local and organic produce. Mr B Drummons is an excellent local butcher and fish monger. We have a small department store, lots of independent shops and a number of chains, including a Waitrose. A short drive away, Southampton offers even more well-known chains, including a large John Lewis.
