Inside Highgate
from a local eye view

Sitting high on a hill over looking the Capital, with the bustle of central London just a stone's throw away, and glorious Hampstead Heath right on our doorstep, it's easy to see how Highgate got its reputation as London's 'green lung', (a phrase coined by violinist, humanist and Highgate Society patron Yehudi Menuhin). Highgate's excellent position and unique character has attracted artists and creative types throughout its history, from Dickens, TS Eliot and Betjeman, to George Michael, Victoria Wood and Sting. Highgate is a real London village, but in place of the pretence of comparable areas, you'll find a relaxed, almost bohemian atmosphere. Yes, there are fine houses but without the Mayfair millionaire prices. We also boast great schools and a rich cultural scene and good shops to boot, within the village or within easy reach. All of which makes Highgate the ideal place for working people and couples, families, empty nesters and retirees.

Le Pain Quotidien
Le Pain Quotidien is a fantastic bakery with stores around the world, serving delicious breads and pastries as well as food to eat in the restaurant area, including plates of charcuterie, sandwiches and salads.
I have been working as an estate agent in the Highgate area of North London for over 26 years. I've handled the sale of over 1000 properties in the area during this time, many of these several times over. I have sold many flats to young couples and then sold for them several years later. I have been a member of the National Association of Estate Agents for 23 years and held office as Chairman for the North London branch of the NAEA for 5 years. I am an active member of the Highgate Village Business Association and also a member of the Highgate Society which serves to protect the unique character of Highgate. I am also a member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).
