Winkworth announces new charity partnership with Habitat for Humanity

National estate agency franchise Winkworth is pleased to announce its new official charity partnership with Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, an affiliate of global housing charity Habitat for Humanity which helps to fight poverty by providing safe and decent homes for those in need.

This press release was originally posted in January 2018

The partnership will be led by Winkworth's head office, who have already kickstarted their fundraising activities with a Christmas Jumper Day in December, and rolled out to its participating franchised offices over the coming year. Habitat for Humanity already has the backing of a number of large businesses in the property industry, but Winkworth is its first UK estate agency partner.

Dominic Agace, Winkworth's CEO, says:
"We're thrilled to announce our partnership with Habitat for Humanity at the start of a new year, a great time to begin planning for what we'd like to achieve in the year ahead. When considering which charity we wanted to start fundraising for, it was important for us to choose one that represents the same key values as ourselves and that our staff could empathise with. Habitat for Humanity ticks all those boxes, where we both believe that a good home is one of the most important things in life and strive to provide decent housing for our clients.

"Habitat for Humanity has worked tirelessly for over 40 years to provide safe homes and communities for people all over the world and we're proud to be able to be a part of that. We're looking forward to fundraising and volunteering over the years to come to raise money and awareness for this very worthwhile charity."

Tum Kazunga, Deputy CEO at Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, adds:
"I'm delighted that Winkworth has decided to support Habitat for Humanity Great Britain. Their commitment to finding families their perfect home is testament to the values shared between our organisations. The overwhelming support from employees has been inspiring, and I'm thrilled to be able to work with them in 2018 and beyond to transform lives around the world."

Habitat for Humanity Great Britain is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an international development charity that aims to relieve the cycle of poverty by building homes for vulnerable families worldwide. The NGO was founded in 1976 in the United States, and today works in over 70 countries.
