But whilst that may have been the reason we picked them without knowing anyone there, we have found that Flora, Bell, Adam and Laura were absolutely the right team for the job and are glad we went with them. Flora came to the initial meeting well prepared and gave us an honest assessment of our options. Being in a chain and with two young children, we were keen to avoid the disruption that came with viewings. Russell and his sales team at Winkworth ended up getting my home going to sealed bids within a week of it being on the market and sold it for £100k over the asking price. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I was living abroad during the viewing process and they ensured the house looked perfect at all times. One of the sales team, Flora, even went over to the house and touched up the front garden gate with paint herself! The house was being used for short lettings throughout the viewing process and the entire team managed to work every viewing around the letting schedule, which meant they were doing back to back viewings for hours at a time without complaint. I have known this branch of Winkworth for many years and have always observed the high level of service they provide to their clients. In a market which is increasingly populated by so called estate agents who do not appear to have the faintest idea what the word 'agent' means and who instead appear to act merely as brokers, with their own interests firmly at the fore, Winkworth in Putney stand out, head and shoulders above the rest. \nUp until last year, I have recommended them without having bought or sold through them but simply because they consistently demonstrate excellent knowledge of both the sales and letting market. We sold our Putney house in a difficult market. The property was in superb condition and had been empty for around 6m when we approached Winkworth. Having had the property on the market with another agent (and one with a very good 'brand'), we were frustrated at the lack of progress, or even feedback of any sort, and decided to switch to Winkworth. We felt that Russell and Flora were very objective and realistic about discussing price expectations and, critically, were unafraid of passing back feedback - positive or negative - such that we could recalibrate the offer and get the job done. Most important by far for us was their commitment to provide timely and complete feedback on all viewings and basically 'keep us in the loop'. In this respect they did a first class job, and in a market where various business models are aiming to 'disrupt' the agency model, we can only say that in this case the fee was well-earned and paid with pleasure. Superb job all around and let's face it - when the market is easy, stamp duty is low and 'everything' is going up it's not difficult. When it's more difficult to effect a sale, it's time to bring in the professionals and pay them to work hard and get the job done. Highly recommended.
