With the surrounding rolling countryside to explore, you are never short of things to see and do in Bath.
A little bit of history
Our city is famous for its Roman Baths, but the Romans were not the first to enjoy the waters of Bath, there is evidence that the main spring was treated as a shrine in the Iron Age. But, nor were they the last; references to the hot waters of Bath can be found through medieval and early modern times, right up to Georgian times when Bath boomed as a spa and resort town attracting many well-to-do visitors, including novelist Jane Austen. Today you can visit the Roman Baths and even experience the naturally warm waters for yourself when you take a dip at Thermae Bath Spa.
