National estate agency franchise Winkworth is delighted to celebrate the long-term heritage of several of its London-based offices this year.
This autumn, five Winkworth offices are reaching significant anniversaries, including: West End, which opened 25 years ago and was the first office for franchisee Charles Peerless; Ealing, which was opened 25 years ago by Andrew Gilbert and is now co-owned with Narendra Gandhi; Golders Green, which opened 25 years and was the first office for Howard Greenfield and Graham Gold; Finchley, which was opened 20 years ago, also by Howard Greenfield and Graham Gold; and Crystal Palace, which was opened 10 years ago by Calum Mason.
Dominic Agace, Winkworth CEO, says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know these franchisees over the years and forging strong partnerships which have, without a doubt, shaped Winkworth as a franchise. Estate agency can be tough at times, but reaching these milestones proves that having the right people and the right support can lead to long-term success in estate agency. I’d like to thank everyone in these offices for their hard work, tenacity and loyalty to Winkworth and look forward to working together for many more years to come.”
Two of Winkworth’s key central London offices also celebrated significant anniversaries last year; Knightsbridge and Chelsea has now been open for 46 years, and Notting Hill opened 31 years ago. Having adapted to countless changes to Government, legislation and other major events over the years, all of Winkworth’s long-standing offices continue to reap the benefits of being part of the franchise, with its unrivalled support services, brand and opportunities to grow as a business.
Charles Peerless, franchisee of Winkworth’s Clerkenwell & City, Paddington & Bayswater and West End offices, says: “Choosing a franchise organisation with a good name, reputation, experience and support is paramount if you want the best chance of your business succeeding. Now, after achieving my initial goal of opening several franchises, I plan to increase our lettings and management portfolios, but if I hadn’t decided to join Winkworth 25 years ago, this may not have been possible.”
Commenting on his offices’ anniversaries, Howard Greenfield says: “When we established our business 25 years ago, we wanted a recognised, reputable name behind us that offered the flexibility of running our own show combined with the greatest chance of success. With a constantly changing and fluctuating market, which at times has been tough, we are delighted with the choice we made. Being part of a national franchise has definitely had a positive impact on our business.”
Andrew Gilbert, franchisee of Winkworth Ealing and Acton, adds: “There has been much change in the industry since we opened our doors in 1993, including an unbelievable amount of new legislation which has been challenging, but we’re fortunate that as part of a franchise we have the opportunity to control our own destiny. Having achieved numerous personal goals throughout my career, my enjoyment now comes from working with my fabulous team and supporting them on their journeys of success and growth.”
Winkworth currently has around 100 franchised offices, as well as a Mayfair-based office providing a support platform for all offices. The franchise’s support services include: marketing, PR, client services, country house and international departments, corporate services, China desk, recruitment, training academy and IT support.
