Winkworth and the local communities

The beauty of the Winkworth franchise model is that all the 100+ offices across the network are independently owned and operated. The franchisees and their teams strive to play a pivotal role in their communities, normally via sponsorship, or by supporting the local charities.

Winkworth Basingstoke's Sales and Lettings Manager, and sister of the Basingstoke franchisee, Anna O'Shea, raises a lot of money for the Ark Cancer Charity. Starting her fundraising efforts this year by abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower in April, Anna is also going to be involved in the Bournemouth Beano in July, a 130-mile round cycle trip from Basingstoke to Bournemouth.

"Inspired by the legendary Only Fools and Horses "Jolly Boys Outing" we hope our ride will go just a little bit smoother, but just as much fun!"

Anna and her fellow fundraisers have raised a massive £177,000 for the charity so far and will be celebrating both their completion of the Arc to Arc cycle ride to Paris in 2017 and their continued fundraising efforts with a charity Gala in September.

Approximately 20 gardens will be open to the public to enjoy as well as live music, refreshments and plant sales mostly along the River Trent and Grantham Canal. The Nottingham office are providing boards and signs for the open gardens making finding them easier.

Winkworth Cheltenham recently sponsored local school St Edwards. The office funded the new 1st XI hockey kit and 1st XV rugby kit for the sixth formers. The office also sponsored the farm and provided animal housing for St Edwards junior school.

The pair became the second fastest in history to row the Atlantic and raised a huge £54,000 for Alzeheimer's Research UK and the Against Malaria Foundation.
