Winkworth’s new franchising department speaks to individuals enquiring about becoming a potential franchisee daily. During each initial and confidential call, both the individual seeking to join the network and a member of the Winkworth team will ascertain whether a synergy is probable to proceed further with the standard application process.
During this preliminary chat a member of the new franchising team will typically ask questions such as employment background, the area in which the potential franchisee is looking to open a Winkworth office, and whether the individual has funding in place for the venture.
If this first call is a success, the next step is the mutual signing of Winkworth’s standard Non-Disclosure agreement, before further information about the franchise, including the comprehensive franchising brochure is sent out.
All being well a member of Winkworth’s new franchising team will organise a meeting with the potential franchisee to discuss in greater detail the requirements of the individual and how the brand could be mutually beneficial to both parties.
Upon a successful meeting, Winkworth will carry out standard due diligence (DD) checks on the individual to progress matters. These include but aren’t limited to:
- Winkworth application form
- Current CV
- Personal, Professional and Bank references
- Statement of Assets and Liabilities form
- A Basic Discloure and Barring Service (DBS) check
N.B Please note the DD checks can take between two to four weeks to be processed
Once all the DD checks are passed, Winkworth will advance the potential franchisee onto stage 2 of the application process, which includes helping to source suitable premises in the agreed location and mapping out an exclusive trading territory.
The whole on-boarding procedure from first phone call to opening the doors of a Winkworth office varies from each individual but the new franchising team say to allow three to five months for the entire process.
