2 minutes with James Campbell

James joined Winkworth in November 2016 as New Franchising Executive.

James’ main role is to grow the Winkworth office network through converting independent offices to the brand or by opening ‘cold start’ offices with new franchisees.

What were you doing before – Brief background?
I was running a small family owned lettings and management business.

What does your department do on a day-to-day basis?
The new franchising department continually looks for the right people in the right places to establish their own Winkworth office. We take individuals looking to open a cold start office through from initial meeting all the way to opening and running their own Winkworth office, providing them with an established model and support services to be successful in their local market. We also look for opportunities to complement existing independent estate agencies by aiding a re-brand of their existing agency into a Winkworth office, providing them with a nationally recognised brand, as well as extensive support services to ensure their competitiveness in their local market.

What’s the best part about working in the Winkworth BAT department?
My job is very sociable; I get to meet a huge variety of people, from a range of walks of life, all coming together for the same purpose.

Future plans?
To open enough offices to retire at 40.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love playing and watching sports, anything from shooting or fishing, golf and tennis, to standing on the terrace at the Rec watching Bath rugby try and win.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
The highlands in Scotland, when the sun is shining and the midgies are nowhere to be seen, or Cornwall with the sun out and no tourists in sight. Both places are beautiful and are places I have visited from a young age on a regular basis.

Dream job?
Professional sports player, unfortunately I am nowhere near good enough at any sport to get close to this!

New year, new career?
