Description
Lovingly cared for by the present owner since 1968, the property has six bedrooms, so offers plenty of flexibility for any family.
The property is approached by a large paved drive which allows parking for several vehicles and leads to a detached double garage.
The owner’s love of railways is evident throughout the property, from the level crossing gate and station lamp at the entrance of the front of the garden and the owner is prepared to leave a large model railway set up in the large attic area, which needs a little restoration to bring it up to a working model.
Internally, you enter into a large entrance hallway with numerous built in cupboards and access to several rooms and a hatch with a ladder up to the attic.
There is a superb sitting room with gas log burning stove, a separate dining room, an attractive kitchen breakfast room with Aga, sink, worktops and cupboards and a walk-in Pantry. Off the kitchen is a utility room, also on the ground floor there is a study/bedroom.
The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room with large walk in shower cubicle, basin and WC. There are two further bedrooms, a family bathroom and a separate WC.
To the rear of the hall a door gives access to four bedrooms (two upstairs) and to a huge playroom/studio through which has another door leading to the indoor heated swimming pool with jacuzzi function and wave action. Beyond the pool is its plant room with shower and WC.
On the First Floor, there are two separate double aspect bedrooms and a shower room.
Outside, the property stands on a plot of approximately 0.9 of an acre mainly laid out to the front and rear with lawns and with a semi wooded area. There are also rockeries, raised vegetable beds, paved patios and flower borders. There is a timber summer house, greenhouse and garden shed.
Bridge, being bypassed, is a sought after village only 4 miles from Canterbury. It has a GP practice, chemist, small supermarket, coffee shop, two hairdressers and an excellent local primary school. It has three pubs and The Pig at Bridge Place, which also offers accommodation. There is a regular bus service to Canterbury and Folkestone.
The A2 road which links to both the Channel Ports (15 miles) and London (65 miles) make it a good commute. By train Canterbury West station (5 miles) is 55 minutes from St Pancras on the high speed rail link, or Bekesbourne station (2 miles) services Victoria (1hr 40 mins) via Canterbury East and the Medway towns.
Canterbury of course has its magnificent Cathedral, several universities, two public schools (Kings and St Edmund’s), grammar schools, many shops, theatres, cinema and other excellent facilities. Local golf courses are in Canterbury, Boughton and Broome Park and there any many other sports facilities nearby.
