Elephant & Castle/Walworth has probably undergone one of Europe's largest regeneration schemes of recent times. Serviced by Elephant & Castle Overground and Underground Stations (Northern and Bakerloo Lines), the area is unrecognisable from ten years ago; the post-war concrete local authority blocks have been replaced with stunning new apartment blocks offering a variety of accommodation including: social housing, studios, one, two and three bedroom apartments and houses. As well as housing, there are several new restaurants, bars and shops appearing. This is an ideal place for first time buyers or buy to let investors with the ongoing regeneration; the current shopping centre, built in 1965 is next on the list for development with demolition due to start in 2020.
