From Oxford take the A34 dual carriageway in a northerly direction turning left at the exit slip road sign posted Islip. Follow the signs into the centre of Islip village through the sharp left and right hand bends before turning left just past the Red Lion public house into Middle Street towards Charlton-on-Otmoor. Continue for a further 3 miles before taking the third turning on the right towards Charlton-on-Otmoor passing the village school on the left and leaving the village along Fencott Road. On entering Fencott, continue around the sharp right and left hand bends and The Orchard will then be located after a further 100m on the right hand side.


The hamlet of Fencott is located on the northern edge of Otmoor which is, itself, an ancient area of inland marsh well known for its fauna and flora and part of which has now become an RSPB wetlands nature reserve. The adjacent bridle path gives riders access to Otmoor and the adjacent villages. The village of Murcott is about 1 mile distant and is renowned for the 17th century Nut Tree Inn which has been awarded a Michelin star in recent years. There is a village primary school in Charlton-on-Otmoor which is also about 1 mile distant and Fencott is well placed for access to the M40 at Junctions 8 or 9. Excellent commuter train services are available from Bicester North station (Chiltern line service to Marylebone) with a train service from nearby Islip to Oxford and onwards to London Paddington (as well as connections to other parts of the country). Other sporting facilities include golf at Magnolia Park (3 miles) and Studley Wood (5 miles).
