Set over three, light filled floors, this four-bedroom Victorian family home has been beautifully renovated with a good balance of elegant decor and character throughout.
This bay-fronted family house occupies a modest 1631 Sq.ft of living space and sits half way down Hewitt Road, a quiet residential street not far from the heart of Harringay.
As you approach this distinguished property and enter its original panelled door you are met by an attractive tiled entrance hall. To the right there is a double reception room with sash bay window complimented by original sanded wood floors. Off the hall there is a useful storage cellar and ground floor guest cloakroom.
The large kitchen dining room is well-fitted, providing a combination of light, space and practicality throughout. The ceiling height glass doors, opens onto a sunny rear garden. Whats great about this space is those who work from home, are greeted by a sunken studio at the rear, with all your wants and needs covered by way of electric and heating.
Upstairs, there are two further levels. The first floor has three bedrooms, the largest of which has a large sash bay window, bespoke-built wardrobes and further along the landing, an extended family bathroom featuring a free-standing tub and separate shower cubicle. Above the loft space is converted to provide large guest bedroom with en-suite shower.
This area has become extremely popular due to the well-regarded primary schools, North and South Harringay and Chestnuts schools, all with good Ofted reports.
Located on the Harringay Ladder, an area flush with some lovely Turkish restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and independent organic stores. Transport links Include Manor house (Zone 2) & Turnpike Lane Underground Station (Piccadilly Line Zone 3) and Hornsey Rail Station (to Kings Cross or Moorgate in less than 20 minutes), both approx. 7 minutes walk away, also within close proximity to bus routes that will take you into central London.
The sellers note -
We moved to Hewitt Road in 2013 with a new baby and toddler. The house needed to be fully renovated. We re-wired, re-plumbed, levelled all the upstairs floors, reinforced beams, fitted new bathrooms, new kitchen, replastered and put all new wooden sash windows in, in the original style as when the house was first built. In 2016 we built a studio/office in the garden. Not wanting to lose garden space, we sunk it into the ground and grassed the top. You could say blood, sweat and tears have gone into the property to create the family home we now have.
All our family have loved living in this area fantastic restaurants, cafes and our local pub, The Salisbury. Also, you can't beat the breakfasts at Jam in the Jar, another local pub just around the corner!
Our children have grown up here. First, attending South Harringay Nursery and now both in the primary school. They absolutely love it here, not just for the many local parks and play areas, but all their friends, who live on and around the ladder.
Our neighbours and the local community are wonderful with regular street party/bbq's, planting days and community events nearby.
We will be sad to leave this very special home but look forward to handing over the keys to someone, that will be able to enjoy the space and area as much as we have.
