Description
Approached over a sweeping driveway, The Goat Barn benefits from an elevated setting overlooking its land and outbuildings.
The house itself is split-level with very versatile accommodation. The entrance hall is perfect for those dirty wellies and coats with a useful cloakroom and shower. Up a short flight of stairs is the open-plan kitchen and living / dining room with Dinesen Oregon Pine floor which has been imported from Denmark, and wood burning stove making it a real centre of the home, where most of your everyday living would be. The kitchen is equipped with a range of wall and base cupboard units, an Aga, Belfast sink, exposed wooden beams and double doors opening out onto the yard and gardens.
A short flight of stairs from the living room lead to the ensuite master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, exposed wood beams, double doors out onto the front lawn and further floor-to-ceiling windows. On the first floor are a further three bedrooms (one ensuite) and a family bathroom with a roll top bath and separate shower unit.
Outside the property really comes in to its own. There is ample parking to the side and front of the property bordered by stone walls and pretty shrubs. The detached studio has exposed wood beams, an entrance hall and a cloakroom. The yard has a number of outbuildings including a large barn with stables. There are lawned gardens, a paddock and further land stretching down into the valley where you will find a pretty stream and woodland. By the stream, there is a level area of grass, previously a ménage, and has been used by the current owners' children for a camp site. In total there are approximately 6.97 acres.
