The Honourable Woman

The much anticipated drama, The Honourable Woman is airing tonight (3rd July) on BBC2, featuring Academy Award nominated Maggie Gyllenhaal and an amazing property currently on the market with Winkworth. http://youtu.be/xQYsZEbu1RI The Honourable Woman is an eight-part series about Nessa Stein (Gyllenhaal) an Anglo-Israeli telecommunications magnate who has recently been awarded a lifetime peerage in Westminster. However, rapidly unfolding events in the West Bank force Nessa to come to terms with the true nature of the company her father created and brings her under the close scrutiny of ageing spy Hugh Hayden-Hoyle (Stephen Rea,The Crying Game) and the intelligence services.   The series has been written and directed by Hugo Blick (The Shadow Line) and weaves an international web of espionage and intrigue. Blick’s choice of locations compliment an intense and gritty narrative, none more so than Stein’s quintessentially English country home, Coombe Moor House. The elegant 1920s luxurious home symbolises the success the Stein family have found through their enterprise but Nessa must confront the human cost at which her wealth has been accrued. Filming of the series took place over three months in July 2013 in a number of locations, including the home in Wimbledon, during which time the whole of the ground floor was taken over by the cast and crew. In fact, one rather more raunchy scene was filmed on the kitchen table! The home itself is an impressive property, in a secluded and exclusive area of London. With seven bedrooms including a large master suite, three reception rooms and a large garden, there’s plenty of room for all the family – or cast – making it an ideal family home.
