Growth at both ends of the central London property market

Recent news affecting buyers of property for sale in central London is coming from opposite ends of the spectrum - both concerning the size of residences. The cost of a one-bedroom flat in London is calculated to be rising up £75 a day, with a thriving audience for entry level property in the city and added interest from buy-to-let investors. At the other end of the scale, brand new central London houses for sale are going to be larger and more luxurious, according to one property source.* The research showed that the super prime and ultra prime markets in central London are welcoming families from within the UK and from overseas who are looking for sizeable accommodation in the heart of the capital. At least 71% of new developments in the central London pipeline include at least one three-bedroom unit, with an 18% rise in applications for residences with four bedrooms and a 33% rise in applications for five-bedroom properties. As well as bigger properties for sale in central London, the volume of new dwellings is also increasing, showing an 8.6% jump since 2009. Figures reveal 7,179 more homes planned across 227 new projects - twice as many schemes and three times as many units than have been completed since 2009. These figures were collated pre-election and Winkworth can almost guarantee that planning applications for larger, more luxurious homes with price points above £2 million will only increase, now that the threat of a mansion tax has been lifted by a Conservator majority in Government. If your property search is imminent and you can't wait for some of central London's newest homes to be built, there is good news. Winkworth is selling some of the grandest properties for sale in central London. Some suggestions are as follows:- Landsdowne Crescent in W11 is home to some stunning super penthouses that boast five bedrooms, four bathrooms and three reception rooms. Ask our Notting Hill estate agents office for details. Stockleigh Hall in NW8 also has a number of penthouse opportunities. Some of the lateral units in the Art Deco building offer four bedrooms set over 3,300 square feet. Contact our St John's Wood estate agents office. Palace Garden Terrace in W8 is lined with beautiful white rendered Victorian terraces with secluded gardens, making them the ideal purchase for families. It's not unusual to find five bedrooms and four bathrooms behind the period façades. Register with our Kensington estate agents office for the latest homes in this area. Elgin Avenue in W9 is a good place to start for townhouse living. Many of the period fronts give way to contemporary interiors spread over five floors. Expect six or seven bedrooms, sweeping staircases and wine cellars. Ask our St John's Wood office for details of houses for sale in Maida Vale. * Pastor
