An Evening of Shakespeare with Emmaus

Emmaus Oxford does fantastic work in helping the homeless by providing them with both support and a way to work them out of homeless by providing them with meaningful work as well as a stable home as long as they need. Emmaus believe that when people are able to make a contribution to the community it can help restore their self-esteem and help them move on with their lives in a positive way. In February, Emmaus are hosting a fundraiser at North Wall Theatre, an evening of Shakespeare, family dramas: Shakespeare on loving, leaving and losing’ In a mixture of lecture and conversation, Laurie Maguire, Professor of English Literature at Oxford University and Gwyn Daniel, Systemic Family Therapist and visiting Lecturer at the Tavistock Clinic, London, will share their perspectives on family life in Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Hamlet and Coriolanus. The evening will begin with a drinks reception at 7pm, Monday 23rd February at The North Wall Theatre, South Parade, Oxford, OX2 7JN Lecture starts at 7.30pm.
