I moved to 89b Seymour Road in 2007 - having lived many years before in a loft flat, I liked the idea of being 'up'. The first thing I did was have professional soundproofing installed under the floorboards. It was a good thing - there is now hardly any noise transfer of daily life between the upper and lower flats.

After my partner (now wife) moved into the flat we together set about making the changes we’d dreamed of. In 2016 we converted the attic into a loft bedroom and turned what was the back bedroom into a kitchen. We love the new layout, and the upstairs room feels like our sanctuary. We will miss it hugely.

The Ladder is a wonderful community, and we love being in such close proximity to everything from busy Green Lanes with its shops, restaurants and pubs to green and leafy Finsbury Park (Park Run on a Saturday morning is a regular fixture for us!). Since our daughter arrived in 2017 we’ve really enjoyed the benefits of the friendly neighbourhood, with hidden treasures such as Railway Fields nature reserve to explore, fantastic cafes Snug and Beans and Barley and the Haringey Local shop. The pedestrian cut-through, the Harringay Passage, is also really useful.

With our daughter growing fast, we are planning to move to be nearer to family. We will be sad to leave the place that has been a happy home for a single person, couple and now family, and we hope whoever lives here after us enjoys it as much as we have.
