Hollande’s victory set to affect the market as French buyers look to move to London

Socialist Francois Hollande’s electoral victory this weekend in France, marks the end of Sarkozy’s reign. The move to the left will bring some big changes for the wealthy French. One of the most notable changes that Hollande intends to introduce is a 75% tax on anyone earning over €1 million. Winkworth agents are predicting that more French people will look to move to the UK where they will be taxed at 50% on their earnings.

Franchisee of Winkworth South Kensington to do charity cycle ride

Chris Roupell of Winkworth South Kensington Estate Agents is embarking on an epic cycle ride from Bruges to Spa from June 7-9. This is the third cycle ride of this length that he will have completed in aid of the Sarah Greene Breakthrough Tribute Fund.

Winkworth Battersea raises over £6,500 for Marie Curie

Winkworth Battersea has supported Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal for a number of years and the team were keen to continue their support for the charity in 2012. Last week Winkworth Battersea rounded up a team of 50 volunteers from all the Winkworth offices, including Winkworth franchising, to spend 12 hours shaking buckets in Waterloo station.

Winkworth works with the charity storm to motivate young people

Winkworth Battersea has thrown its weight behind Storm, a charity to help motivate unemployed young people. The Battersea office ran a course for 6-8 local young people in conjunction with Storm, from Monday 31st October to Friday 4th November. The course was coordinated with the Borough Commander and local MP Jane Ellison, who visited the scheme on Friday.
