Homes Under the Hammer
Following on from the Winkworth blog, “2012 – Kick Start the New Year””, I’ve had the opportunity of appearing on the BBC show, Homes under the Hammer, on several occasions. The show focuses on following the owners’ journey in refurbishing and renovating their property. It is my role to value the property for sale and rental value, pre and post renovation.
The renovation requirements can range from repainting to structural changes. What is apparent is the changes it makes to the property value.
If you are thinking of putting your house on the market in the New Year, it would be worth seeing what small refurbishments could be done to maximise not only the value but, and often more importantly, the appeal to buyers. Furthermore by simply obtaining planning permission for an extension, such as a conservatory, your property’s appeal is increased.
For those looking to sell, we have a number of new buyers to the Lincoln area. Many of these buyers have moved from London. Lincoln is a growing city with both its thriving University and its historic Cathedral. From Newark Northgate or Grantham Central you can be in Kings cross in under an hour and ten minutes.
