Winkworth works with the charity storm to motivate young people

Winkworth Battersea has this week supported the charity Storm, Storm aims to help motivate unemployed young people. The Battersea office ran a course for 6-8 local young people in conjunction with Storm, from Monday 31st October to Friday 4th November.  The course was coordinated with the Borough Commander and local MP Jane Ellison, who visited the scheme on Friday.

The aim of the five day course was to inform young people about the employment opportunities available to them. Winkworth Battersea offered them motivational advice, practical help on CVs and guidance on how to approach businesses.

Enson Smith has been awarded one week’s work experience with Winkworth Battersea for his consistent effort and enthusiasm for the property industry.

Marie Hanson, Manager of Storm said:

“We are delighted to be working with Nick Goble and his team at Winkworth Battersea. Support from local businesses within the community can give someone a chance in life they never knew possible. This is what the young people need, a chance. An open door for a great opportunity for them to be seen positively active within the community.”

Nick Goble, Winkworth Battersea, added:

“Through this course we hope we have inspired the people involved and given them the drive to seek more permanent employment.”

As a result of Winkworth piloting the project, Debenhams, Waitrose and TKMaxx have all signed up to run similar schemes.
