New Winkworth Franchising video blog is online
The latest Winkworth video blog is now available to watch on below. The short film looks at Winkworth Franchising and the benefits of joining a franchise model. Winkworth has been a franchising group since 1981, although the firm was established in 1835.
In fact it was the first estate agency franchise in the UK.
James Trimble, Winkworth New Franchising Director, said:
“We are always on the look out for the right sort of people, the right sort of towns; completing eight to ten office openings per annum. Proportionally, the new offices are made up of cold starts and independent agencies that have converted to Winkworth. The Winkworth model is perfectly suited to independents as we are made up of independent estate agents, trading under the Winkworth banner. One recent South-East of England conversion has already seen 46% increase year-on-year since they came onboard.Winkworth also looks at people with other property backgrounds, such as building, mortgages or even a related field like commercial property.”
Simon Jacobs, owner of Winkworth Devizes, commented:
“The cost of trying to set up as an independent with a cold start is too great. The opportunity for Winkworth came along and I was really looking to be able to compete against the major players in the industry. The only way to do this was with the support of a big brand like Winkworth. We have found, from the off, that we have had the ability to compete. In winning instructions and taking on the big boys, we simply haven’t had a problem.”
David King, head of Winkworth Country House Department, added:
“We assist country offices in winning higher value instructions by acting as a liaison desk between London and the country offices. In recent months we have won instructions between £1.5million – £4.5 million for newly opened offices.”
James Trimble concluded:
“Our role is to support those independent offices. You have the benefits of running and owning your own office but with this history and heritage of Winkworth.
Goodwill does travel.
People move from their flat to their house in the suburbs and then they move an hour or two outside London and commute back in. People are aware of the brand.
It is a warm start in many a town.”
