Kew the Music

Between July 6 and 11, Winkworth sponsored Kew the Music. Over five nights a series of top acts performed live to over 7,000 people per concert.

This year’s star-studded line-up kicked off with a double bill from The Feeling and The Noisettes on Wednesday 6 July, with a sell-out crowd relaxing to music and soaking up the atmosphere and beauty of Kew’s stunning landscape.  The following nights featured Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum (a London exclusive), Bryan Ferry supported by Sophie Ellis Bextor, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, and culminating in an iconic performance by Debbie Harry fronting Blondie.

The event was a huge success, and we were delighted with the turnout.  More than 40,000 people attended over the course of the week, and most would have seen our branded banners at the entrance to the event and on the side of the communications tower.

We successfully ran a competition to give away pairs of tickets to 30 lucky winners and the 10,000 Winkworth branded oyster cards we distributed seemed to go down well with the crowd, so popular we ran out within thirty minutes of the final evening!
