It might be time to think about Short Lets
More and more people are coming to London for work and extended vacations, resulting in a dramatic increase in the demand for Short Lets. Winkworth is pleased to now be offering Short Lets from a number of our London offices from 2012.
What is a Short Let?
A Short Let can be anything from one week up to six months, depending on availability of the property and any restrictions within the local boroughs. Landlords may need to apply to their local council for the appropriate licence.
Short Lets offer Tenants an alternative to hotel accommodation; an opportunity to live in a 'home away from home', ie. a fully furnished place to stay which provides all the items needed for day-to-day living. All utility bills are included in the rent, excluding telephone and internet.
Tenants will expect properties to be fully furnished to a high standard, as well as being well equipped throughout, enabling them to arrive to a fully functional property including:
- Bed linen & towels (Landlords are expected to provide two sets of each per person)
- Fully fitted kitchen including all household items such as ironing board, etc
- Television/Stereos

All utilities need to be included in the rent with the exception of telephone /internet and cable/satellite television.
A basic cleaning service minimum of 3 hours per week needs to be arranged and included in the rent.
